The Pigeons Are Having A Feast

Walking down the street

Turn into an alley

It's lunchtime in Providence

The pigeons are having a feast

The pigeons are having a feast

Come one

Come all

Come every man and beast

Come

Gather around the dumpster area

Watch the pigeons eat

The pigeons are having a feast!

Finding oneself among sand, salt & snow...

I took this in Brownfield, Maine about a month ago.

light and shadow

here are some shadows around school...

Macro self-portrait & tunnel shot

As I was shooting Macro shots, I zeroed in on Pooky - and anyone who knows Garfield will be able to appreciate Pooky!!! ...I liked how you could make out my hand and my camera in his nose and a little bit in his eyes :)
This is a shot taken while driving through the tunnel on 84 going through Hartford...I liked the way the colors blurred from my dashboard (blue), tail-lights (red), on-coming headlights (white) from the other side, and the tunnel lights (dotted yellow) along the walls...

Macro

These a few pics of flowers that I took not too long ago. Comments are wanted! :)

Macro goldfish...

This is my friend's fish "Juno."
I took these shots at a high ISO, so there was a lot of "noise" in the pictures - I used the film grain filter to emphasis this quality and push the images to be even more 'different.'

around campus.

I went out for almost an hour and a half the other trying to find something to inspire me to take picutres. I found somethings to take pictures, but they didn't come out how I wanted. I came back to campus and the sun was setting and this is what I took some pictures of.

Macro Art Part II

This is a portrait I painted of my brother's girlfriend, Emily.
...a macro shot of her painted portrait...
This is a portrait I painted of my brother, Tyler. He was farther in the background, so his features were obscured to make him appear slightly out of focus...
This shot is of Ty's hands...he is a musician, so any portrait of him should also include his hands. I liked how gestural my marks turned out, this part of the painting is very small and I thought it was cool - zeroing in on the brushstrokes and canvas texture.

Both of these were taken near my bay window. I liked the intense colors of the orange the the green when the sun hit them.

Open Way Beach at Lord's Point

This morning I decided to go for a walk with my camera. I walked down the street to Open Way Beach. Here are some of the pictures that I took. They were originally in color but with a little help I learned that the pictures could be beautiful in black and white. One of the pictures includes my footprint. When I got home, I took this picture from my bedroom window. It is a dream catcher with glass pieces hanging off of it.

Macro Art Part I

These are macro (& portrait) shots of paintings I've created.

I took the two tree bark pics at East Rock the other day. I just think bark can be so complex looking. The third is a rusted lamp post on campus.

Macro Cuddles

This is my cat Cuddles. A little background about him...he came to our doorstep on Christmas Day 1996 and we decided to take him in...needless to say he's been ruling the house ever since. I've been trying to take pictures of him for weeks, and I finally got him sitting still.

Working the Pub

Don't think I'm an alcoholic! I work at the pub here on campus and was bored the other night so I dumped all the bottle tops on the counter and took a few photos. I also took the time to make a pyramid with the bottle tops too.

more flowers.

I took the yellow flower with my digital camera, while the carnation I scanned. You can see soo much more detail with a scanned photo!

More Macro Food

In addition to my cherrios, here are some saltines.

I call this place the tree tunnel!

Clean up your mess!

Macro Food

I was pouring milk into my cereal bowl the other day and I thought it might be interesting to photograph some food, so here are some cherrios.

Taking a walk down the street!

Riley

I found my cat sitting on the corner of one of the staircases in my house the other day. I sat with her for a while in the warm sun before I decided to take some pictures of her. These are some of the shots I got. (Sorry there's so many... I couldn't choose which ones I liked the best.)
