These are a couple shots I took in Bridgeport CT of abandon buildings and the area around them. Each picture is edited a different way, either using color balance or desaturation.

Abandoned studio.

I was cutting through Walsh the other day and couldn't pass up the shot of the light filtering in and reflecting upon the tables in Room 3...

This is a picture I took in Maine near Seal Cove. I thought the white lines in the rocks were cool.

It's the Fuzz!

This is Fuzzy Man. We first met in 2001. The first time I held him he fit into the palm of my hand perfectly. It was love at first pet. The other day I came home and he was asleep on my bed. I set my camera to Macro mode and got in very close. As you can see his eye is starting to open. He left the room shortly after. I think I annoyed him. It was difficult to sleep with a camera 3 centimeters away from his eye.

Highway travels: Maine

Shots out of the passenger window...finding pictures where the snow is *not* blown out!! :)

Animal shots continued...

^ This is Simba. I took these shots while I was in Maine two weekends ago...he had just finished chomping at some snow when I got his attention...
This is Nala, his sister. They're both very old, but so lovable!

GLAM shot! ^_^
The late afternoon sun-rays were aiming directly at the boys, throwing their shadows across the tile floor at the entrance of my mom's house.
I didn't alter the colors on this one. I liked how severe the royal blue-hued snow versus the pale yellow lamplight contrast was, and the highlights in the icy footprints! This is the path between Dominican Hall and McAuliffe, taken about a week ago...
Sunset in Milford!

More Shadow and Light

This is a photo of my deck door. I really love the shadow and I also like how the handle stands out against the curtain.

The rings of a tree are always a good idea!

Shadow and Light

This is a photo of the drain pipe on my house. There was water rushing out of it and a mound of broken icicles on the ground. The snow is a little blown out, but I really like the color in this photo.

Here's looking at YOU kitty!

^ This is Bob, short for Bobcat. He has such a kind lion face!
^ This is Benji, well - at least I call him that. Everyone else calls him George because he's SO curious - he'll literally follow you around and investigate everything you do; I'm surprised he didn't lunge, sniffing, at the camera when I took this shot...
I liked the way his shadow fell across his fur...he has the tiniest ears (for a cat) and the shadow makes them HUGE - like Batman :) ...affectionate blob by day, adventurous hero feline by night - I love the fact I was able to capture him and his alter-ego in the same moment!

Its nice seeing green plants in the winter...im sick of snow!

sittin on the dock of the bay wastin' time

I went to the milford beach when the snow storm hit last friday just because there was nothing else to do. The first and third are of the dock as rain snow and fog precipitated from the sky. The Second is of the seagulls footprints in the snow on the dock.

These are from a beach in Branford.

Sunroof Shots

Like the title implies, I took these shots through my sunroof on my way back from Maine on Tuesday. I know the snow in the second shot makes the image a little blown out, but I liked the colors too much...
"hand at 10" - I loved the ice-trees on my drive up.
This was taken on Route 16 in New Hampshire.
Brownfield, ME - this is Joe's (my boyfriend's) house
A shot of the river off his back deck
Sunset in Fryeburg, ME.

The "blue" one was taken at a playground at a beach, but with no kids playing on it. I love it for some reason. The second one is one of those places that overlooks the water and you can sit and handout on it. I got pretty low to the ground so I could get the long shadow. The last one is of some rope tied to a wooden post.

Downtown Providence

Last weekend I went to downtown Providence with Daniel. This was part of a sculpture that looked like a robot. I took a picture of my face in its reflection. I like how the buildings are in the reflection too.

While I walked down the street in the freezing cold, I looked up and saw a bunch of balloons caught in a tree. I wondered who lost them. I took a picture of the balloons but placed the camera diagonally in my hands to get some of the lovely architecture and the tree branches. The tree-branches reminded me of an ink line drawing.

I took another picture of a gate wrapped with chain and its shadow projecting onto an entry way. I especially like the lock and chain shadow.

room

Some shadows that I found in my room.

I took all of these at a dock in Stratford. I like the effect I got when I went low to the ground in the first shot. I really like the sky in the second photo. The third is my favorite because I like the way the green looks against the blue sky.

More Seagulls

Hey class, here are some more pictures I took at the East Haven Beach. This little guy seems a bit lonely, but he has his shadow to keep him company. I like the way the foamy wave looks coming up on shore.

I call this one my family of seagulls. I really like the detail on their tails--white polka dots against navy blue...a true fashion statement.
